Pour 45$ par mois et l’achat d’une carte sans-fils à 99$ (avec un contrat de 2 ans), vous serez en mesure de vous promenez un peu partout avec votre portable et d’obtenir un accès Internet de 3megs!
Je crois que c’est superbe. Présentement, à la maison, nous payons quelque chose comme 40$/mois pour une connection Internet Haute-vitesse maison-seulement.
Par contre, sous un autre optique, ça représente tout un mal de tête pour retracer ces utilisateurs s’ils devaient abuser du réseau… Est-ce une nouvelle façon pour les pollurieurs de nous imposer leurs messages commerciaux?!
Nous allons sans aucun doute le découvrir!
Just found that there is a new service offered by Sympatico called « High Speed Unplugged« .
For $45 per month and $99 for a wireless card (with 2-years agreement), you can bring your laptop everywhere and get high speed connection up-to 3megs!
I think that’s great. Right now, at home, we are paying something like $40/month for an exclusive home based high speed Internet.
However, on another perspective, this is a big headache for tracing back users if they shall abuse their Internet connection… Is it a new way for spammers to input their commercial messages?!
We will definitely live to see it!
Wow! That’s a nice technology they are setting up there. The only drawback I see so far is that you have to carry your modem with you, which mean a) you need a power source and b) while you are on the road, you don’t have Internet connectivity at home. That wouldn’t work with our family, but for a student or a single Internet user, this is definitivly a great deal. Can you plug a router in the modem? (I guess so.) Are they selling extra modems so you can leave one at home and carry the other one with you when you are on the road? (I’m not too sure about this.)
I’m not too sure about how exactely – technology-wise, it is working.
Yes, I assume that with extra cost you can buy more wireless card. However, it is $250 a piece… $99 is when you have a 2-years agreement. But they may also have special deal when you buy more than one… But I wouldn’t count too much on that.
It would seem to be pretty portable. They say that it is « about the size of a slim paperback ».
